Zack Byrd of Murrells Inlet shot 4-under 67 in Thursday’s final round to win a Hooters Tour Carolina Summer Series event at The Members Club at Woodcreek and WildeWood in Elgin.
Byrd finished at the tournament at 7-under par to win by one stroke over Mount Pleasant’s Brian Duncan. The former Coastal Carolina star earned $3,300 and his second Carolina Summer Series of the year.
Myrtle Beach’s Roberto Diaz finished fifth at 2 under, Zack Amole, also from Myrtle Beach, finished tied for 10th at 1 over. Little River’s Patrick Lundy finished tied for 12th at 3 over.
