Former North Myrtle Beach volleyball standout Erica Allman has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Allman is a senior at NAIA Columbia College.
On the week, the Fighting Koalas’ volleyball team went 2-1 with wins against Brenau University and Virginia Intermont. Allman had an outstanding performance against preseason No. 1-ranked Milligan College, tallying a record breaking 51 digs in four sets.
On the season, the senior defensive specialist ranks 15th in the nation with 5.55 digs per game. Allman has helped Columbia to an 11-4 record overall this season, including a 4-1 mark in the AAC.
Allman is completing a stellar career at Columbia. In 2009, she was selected to the Southern States Athletic All-Conference Second Team. As a junior last season, Allman was the only Columbia College volleyball player to receive SSAC honors as she was named to the All-East Division team.
“Erica has consistently anchored our defense for three years and it comes as no surprise she now holds this school record,” said Columbia coach Brian Solomon.
