The Myrtle Beach Triathlon Club, a local triathlon training group, took the Division 4 club championship in Saturday’s Myrtle Beach UltraMax Triathlon.
The local group had 31 triathletes compete in Saturday’s race and scored 178 points to beat out six other clubs in its division. Colorado finished a distance second with 70 points.
The MBTriClub had two members qualify for the 2012 World Championships. Brad Stone and May Lauzon both turned in world qualifying times and will be eligible to comete in the event next year in Spain.
