Dustin Johnson is not upset that his caddie left to take over Tiger Woods’ bag.
Joe LaCava, a longtime caddie for Fred Couples before linking up with Johnson this summer, was hired by Woods on Sunday.
“I spoke to Tiger about it. There’s no hard feelings at all,” Johnson said Thursday. “We had a great conversation. He just did what he did.”
Johnson, who won The Barclays a month ago with LaCava as his caddie, is searching for a new, full-time replacement. In the meantime, Keith Sbararo, vice president of TaylorMade, will man Johnson’s bag for the remainder of the year.
LaCava became only the third professional caddie for Woods, who fired Steve Williams in July after a long and successful partnership.
