Seahawks hammer Chiefs

Myrtle Beach got four touchdown passes from co-quarterback Tyler Keane and the defense added a pair of TD returns to lift the Seahawks to a 56-7 victory over North Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach’s Trell Harrell and Jaquan Wilson caught a pair of TD passes apiece and Mason Lewis also caught a touchdown toss from Keane, his second consecutive four-touchdown passing night.

Defensive backs Kerry Chestnut took a fumble 65 yards for a score and Lavandrick Wilson scooped one for a 23-yard TD return early in the second half for a 42-0 lead.

Co-quarterback, who threw one of the TDs to Jaquan Wilson, also C.J. Cooper scored on a 9-yard run in the third period. Keane connected with Harrell twice and Jaquan Wilson once in the first half and hit Lewis on a screen pass for a 23-yard TD to cap the scoring for a 56-7 victory.

North Myrtle Beach, which suffered its 23rd consecutive defeat, scored its lone touchdown on a 65-yard run by Lawrence Lane.

The Seahawks (9-1, 5-0 Region VIII-AAA) wrapped up their fifth straight region title last week and used Friday’s rivalry as a tune-up for next week’s opening round of the playoffs.

The Chiefs (0-10, 0-5 region) will look to next season to end their losing streak and get the program back on the winning track.
