North Carolina was nearly a unanimous choice for the top spot in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll.
The Tar Heels received 30 of 31 first-place votes in the poll, released Thursday. Kentucky came in at No. 2, followed by Ohio St., defending champion Connecticut and Syracuse.
North Carolina is led by potential player of the year candidate Harrison Barnes, as well as standouts John Henson, Kendall Marshall and Tyler Zeller.
Rounding out the top-10 are Duke, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Memphis and Florida.
Both Clemson and South Carolina were left out of the Top 25.
