Sophomore Angelica Henry recorded a career high eight assists and senior Taylor Epley finished the game with four blocks as Coastal Carolina improved to 3-0 on the season.

Irick gave the Chants their first lead of the game at 6-4 by converting on two additional free throw attempts. The Chanticleers held onto the lead from that point on and used a 9-0 run to build a 10 point lead. Sophomore Angelica Henry started the run with a layup and scored the final two points on a layup at the 14:11 mark. Coastal used another 9-2 run to go ahead 29-13 with 10:11 remaining in the first half. The largest lead of the first 20 minutes of play came following a layup by sophomore Katelyn Connor who put the score at 43-15 with five minutes remaining before the break. Coastal headed into the locker room for halftime ahead 45-31.

Coastal finished the first half shooting 38.8% from the floor and 57.1% from the free throw line. Irick connected on all four of her free throw attempts. The Chanticleers also recorded six steals and five blocked shots in the first 20 minutes of action.
