Coastal Carolina men’s basketball senior guard Willie Kirkland will miss the remainder of the 2011-12 season with a fractured ankle.
“It has been a tough road for Willie, we never like to see this happen to a player, especially so early in a long season,” said head coach Cliff Ellis.
Hampered with the injury originally suffered in the preseason, Kirkland was limited in action this season playing in four games averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
The Coastal Carolina athletic department plans on pursuing a medical hardship at the conclusion of the season.
