There were no real surprises but plenty of reason for smiles on National Signing Day on the Grand Strand.
Myrtle Beach High sent a pair of players to ACC and SEC schools, Conway High had three sign with FCS school Newberry and Carolina Forest sent four players to smaller schools during a busy but predictable decision day for college football prospects.
The Seahawks saw defensive linemen Tyler Knox and offensive lineman T.J. Jones live up to their verbal commitments by inking National Letters Of Intent with North Carolina State and Kentucky, respectively. Defensive back Daquarius Wilson signed with FCS N.C. Central.
Conway offensive linemen Bernard Brooks, defensive back Robert Nelson and wide receiver Cole Watson did as expected by signing with the Indians.
The Panthers sent four to college football programs all at the Division II level or lower. Quarterback Danny Daly signed with Division II Methodist, defensive lineman Christian Lewis agreed with Tusculum (Tenn.) College, wide receiver Aaron Williams committed to Louisburg (N.C.) Junior College and wide receiver Jarvez Holmes signed with Georgia Military Academy.
More signings were expected later in the day.
