The Conway High boys soccer team improved to 4-0 on the regular season and captured its first region victory of the year with a 2-1 win over Sumter on Monday night.
The Tigers (4-0 overall, 1-0 Region VI-AAAA) jumped to the top of the region standings for all-important playoff positioning.
Conway’s Jose Quinones scored first on an assist by Skottowe Fox, then Ashton McCants netted the game-winner on an assist by Anthony Melecio.
Conway goaltender Brett Williams and the Tigers defense helped preserve the win. Conway returns to action Friday night against region rival West Florence.
