North Myrtle Beach boys, girls sweep track tri-meet

The North Myrtle Beach girls and boys track and field teams captured first place in a tri-meet with Socastee and Green Sea Floyds on Friday at North Myrtle Beach.

Drake Jenerette and Jaquella Livingston again led the Lady Chiefs with three victories apiece. Jenerette won the 800-, 1600- and 3200-meter runs, while Livingston won the 400-meter run, the long jump and the high jump, tying her school record of 5 feet, 2 inches.

Other Lady Chiefs earning first-place showings were Ingrid Edge (100-meter high hurles), Marisa Maher (pole vault and 400-meter hurdles), Alexis Leonhardt (triple jump), Audrey Grey (discus) and Chella Brown (200-meter run). The Lady Chiefs also won all three relay events.

The North Myrtle Beach boys also fared well, winning 11 of the 17 events. Jeffrey Linta cleared 15-6 in the pole vault, and the Chiefs won two out of three in relay races.

Individual winners were Vincent Taylor (100 hh), Delonzo Williams (100m), Marshawn Scott (400 hurdles and high jump), Taquan Long (200m), Andrew Bans (long jump), Laquinn Bellamy (shot put) and Jeffrey Edge (discus).
