State-champion Sharks win home opener over Warriors

The St. James baseball team returned to its home field for the first time since capturing the Class AAA state championship last season.

The Sharks (4-0) picked up right where they left off last year, knocking off Waccamaw 3-2 in their home opener to remain undefeated on the season.

St. James’ pitcher Zach Cook picked up the victory to improve to 2-0 on the season and reliever Trent Revis earned his first save of the year.

The Sharks got two hits apiece from Kasey Crooks and Preston Lane to knock off the Warriors.

St. James returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday when the Sharks play host to Region VIII-AAA rival North Myrtle Beach.
