Carolina Forest walks past Myrtle Beach on diamond

Carolina Forest literally walked past Myrtle Beach for a 6-2 victory on Monday night, chasing in on nine free passes at the plate to defeat the Seahawks.

The Panthers managed only three hits on the night, half as many as the Seahawks’ six. But Myrtle Beach’s pitchers combined to walk eight batters and hit another.

The Panthers (9-5) parlayed those freebies, plus a pair of Myrtle Beach (3-8) errors, for a pair of big innings. Carolina Forest scored two runs in the second and three runs in the fifth.

Carolina Forest returns to action Wednesday night for a big region showdown with West Florence.
