The St. James baseball and softball teams will begin their quests for a Class AAA state championship on the road, while the Carolina Forest softball squad will open the postseason at home when the Lower State tournaments get under way Saturday.
The Sharks, the defending state baseball champs, travel to face Chapin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Lady Sharks visiting No. 1 seeded and ranked Hartsville at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Panthers play host to White Knoll at 6 p.m. Saturday.
In Monday’s first round of the Class AAA girls soccer playoffs, No. 1 seed St. James will host No. 4 Cane Bay, No. 2 seed Myrtle Beach will host No. 3 Berkeley, No. 3 North Myrtle Beach travels to No. 2 Bluffton and No. 4 Socastee travels to Hilton Head to take on No. 1 seeded Hilton Head Island. In Class AAAA, No. 3 Carolina Forest will travel to No. 2 West Ashley on Monday.
The Class AAA boys soccer tournament will open Tuesday with No. 1 Myrtle Beach hosting Berkeley, No. 2 Socastee hosting No. 3 Bluffton, No. 3 North Myrtle Beach travleing to No. 2 Bluffton and No. 4 St. James traveling to top-seeded Hilton Head Island. In Class AAAA, No. 2 Carolina Forest will host No. 3 West Ashley on Tuesday. Game times are TBA.
