Clemson lands nation’s No. 1 recruit in DE Nkemdiche

Defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, rated the nation’s No. 1 college football prospect in the class of 2013 by virtually every recruiting service, verbally committed to Clemson on Thursday, according to reports by multiple media outlets.

Nkemdiche, who attends Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., committed on the second day of his three-day, unofficial visit to Clemson.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end picked the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss, among others.

Grayson head coach Mickey Conn and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney were roommates at Alabama.
