The Myrtle Beach FC Mutiny plays host to the Atlanta Silverbacks at 8 p.m. Saturday, but the pro soccer players are already winners in the eyes of one local group.
The Grand Strand Miracle League, which allows special-needs children to take part in sports like baseball and soccer, welcomed the Mutiny for a special clinic earlier this week.
The team took part in drills and games with the kids on the Miracle League field at “Pepper” Geddings Recreation Center, but mostly laughed and played while enjoying the fellowship of sports. The kids will join the team on the field before kickoff of tonight’s game.
The Mutiny (2-4) and Silverbacks kick off at 8 p.m. at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Tickets are $9 for adults and children 10 and under are admitted free.
