Beach United, Coast FA hold tryouts for 2012-13 seasons

The high school and recreation soccer leagues are winding down, but the preparations for next season are already under way.

Both the Beach United and Coast FA club program begin tryouts and evaluations this week that run the end of May. The process is required for players looking to take part in the programs in the 2012 fall and 2013 spring seasons.

For those considering playing for Beach United or Coast FA next season, the two 2-hour workouts are designed to give coaches and instructor an idea about the player’s talent level and skills development. It’s also a good opportunity for prospective players to get a better idea about the program.

“The evaluations are four hours of soccer training and it gives the players a chance to work out with the group,” said Beach United director of girls soccer Curtis Freeman. “It’s a good tool for us to get an idea of what we’re working with in the future.”

Players are encouraged to attend both sessions but may come to only one if there is a time conflict. All players should come dressed for practice (shin guards and cleats) and bring a ball and a drink.

The cost for the tryouts/evaluations is $25 at Beach United and $20 for Coast FA. Each age division has a scheduled time, date and location for their respective workouts (see below).
