Boys Soccer: MB, NMB, SJ dominate all-region team

sjsoc-14Although their seasons did not last as long as they had hoped, three local teams dominated the All-Region 7-4A boys soccer postseason awards.

Region champion Myrtle Beach and runner-up St. James placed eight players on the all-region squad – including the Sharks’ Region Player of the Year Luke Williams. Third-place North Myrtle Beach had seven players, plus Region Coach of the Year Jason Mueller, as the local trio accounted for every position but one on the first team.

Myrtle Beach’s J.R Stanley, Hunter Hardin, Coby Arambula and Nick Beauchamp earned first-team honors, along with St. James’ Williams, Garrett Greene, Chris Young and JD Verren. North Myrtle Beach’s Hamdane Aoubou, Douglas Acosta and Matt Wilson also made the first team.

The second team features Myrtle Beach’s Shavoy Brown, Lerol Parchment, Declan McGonigal    and George Gore; North Myrtle Beach’s Mitch Backer, Mike Jennelle and Javier Ayilla- Davila; and St. James’ Riley Parker and Andrew Broome.

St. James’ Raphael Carr and Dalton Arseaneu; and North Myrtle Beach’s Simon Sander made honorable mention.
