Carolina Forest boys, girls run away with first track meet

The Carolina Forest boys and girls track and field teams got off to a successful start to the season Tuesday with a tri-meet sweep over Conway and Lincoln.

The Panthers tallied 100 points to top the Tigers (62) and Yellow Jackets (3), only to be topped by the Lady Panthers’ 101 points to Conway’s 65 and Lincoln’s 0.

Carolina Forest dominated the relay races and the distance events, with Lisa Pieterse and Dustin Conklin claiming the 3200 meters. The Panthers and Lady Panthers also won most of the field events.

Conway’s Malcolm Green won four different events – the 100 and 200 meters and the long jump.
