Carolina Forest knocks off Chiefs, Tigers by 6-1 scores

nmbtennis-forehandThe Carolina Forest High girls tennis team bounced back from a loss the previous day to score a 6-1 victory over visiting North Myrtle Beach on Wednesday.

After being swept by region foe Socastee on Tuesday, the Lady Panthers responded by beating another intra-county opponent in a non-region contest with the Lady Chiefs. North Myrtle Beach was coming off a win over visiting Wilson.

Carolina Forest swept singles action, as No. 1 Hitomi Kobayashi defeated Taylor Gore 6-1, 6-1; No. 2 Drew Limpasuvan beat Lorena Beltran 6-3, 6-1; No. 3 Jaden Nye topped Malaysia Williams 6-1, 6-0; and No. 4 Sophia Gouhin downed Rachel Grove 6-3, 6-2. Carolina Forest won a pair of matches via forfeit – No. 5 singles Sara Nibar, and No. 2 doubles Jade Crooks and Ela Ender.

North Myrtle Beach’s lone win came at No. 1 doubles as Taylor Gore and Lorana Beltran edged Evonne Sherman and Brittany Morgan in a pro set by an 8-6 score.

* Carolina Forest defeated its second county foe in as many days Thursday by downing Conway 6-1. Match results are listed below.
