Coastal Carolina University will host the 2016 Big South Conference Baseball Tournament on May 24-28, the announced Monday, marking the first major event to be held at the new Springs Brooks Stadium.

The league made additional updates to policies and procedures from the League’s annual Big South Conference Council of Chief Executive Officers meeting in late May. In addition to awarding CCU the baseball tournament, the basketball tournaments and outdoor track and field championships will return to the Conway campus.

A new schedule format was approved for the 2016 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Basketball Championships, which will be held March 1-6 at The HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University.  The women’s championship will be Tuesday-Saturday with an off day on Friday, while the men’s event will occur four consecutive days from Thursday-Sunday.  Below is the new daily schedule with the number of games listed for each day:

The Conference’s leadership and members also approved the following policies and procedures: Men’s Basketball (New tie-breaker format, effective in 2015-16); Women’s Basketball (New 18-game Conference schedule instead of 20, effective in 2016-17); Football (Addition of video replay review for all home games, previously used just for games as part of Big South’s ESPN3 package).

The league also opened the solicitation of bids from neutral site and campus locations for 2017-19 Basketball Championships. It is unclear if CCU/Myrtle Beach will make a bid to keep the tournament at the HTC Center.
