CF girls come out firing on all cylinders in region debut

cfghoops-3The Carolina Forest girls basketball team made an impressive debut in Region 6-5A play on Thursday night with a dominating 69-42 victory over West Florence at The Black Hole.

The Lady Panthers came out firing from the field right out of the gate, connecting on six 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 37-21 halftime lead. Defensively, the team had 26 steals and held the Lady Knights to five points in the third quarter.

Carolina Forest’s Ellen Nardella led the Lady Panthers with 23 points, including five treys, and added five steals on the other end of the floor. Cheyenne Pyles tallied 21 points, seven assists and five steals.

Carolina Forest’s Alexis Tomlin had her usual double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. She added seven blocks to come close to a rare triple-double.

The Lady Panthers (9-4 overall, 1-0 region) will be traveling to South Florence on Tuesday.
