Chiefs roll, move record to 4-0 for first time since 1997

The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs went to Mullins looking to go to 4-0 without the services of leading rusher Delonzo Williams.

As it turned out, they didn’t need him to keep their undefeated season alive as North Myrtle Beach rolled to a 45-6 victory over the Auctioneers (2-3). The Chiefs are 4-0 for the first time since 1997.

North Myrtle Beach’s linebacker/backup running back Laquinn Bellamy anchored the shutout and ran for three first-half touchdowns in place of Williams, including highlight-reel TD runs of 55 and 80 yards.

Chiefs quarterback Kendrick Furness threw two TD passes – the first to Tyrique Robinson for 47 yards to open the scoring and another to Cameron Gore to cap the first half with a commanding 42-0 lead at the break.

North Myrtle Beach kicker Christian Buis booted a third-quarter field goal for the Chiefs’ lone points of the second half and the Aucs tallied a late TD against the reserves to break up the shutout. The Chiefs play host to Green Sea Floyds next week.
