Chiefs take down Braves, Seahawks in key tri-match

The North Myrtle Beach High wrestling team came out on top of two local rivals in a tri-match Tuesday, defeating Socastee 42-30 and Myrtle Beach 48-22.

One of the highlights of the night came between a pair of returning state qualifiers in the 195-pound weight class – North Myrtle Beach’s Curtis Wolfe and Myrtle Beach’s Pedro Reyes. Wolfe claimed an 8-5 decision in the first of many meetings on the mat between the two region rivals.

North Myrtle Beach’s Omar Genwright (120), Jackie Gore (138), Chase Simmons (145), Tanner Collins (152), Rahsaan Vereen (160), Wolfe (195) and Kwame Livingston (285) each went a perfect 2-0 on the night to lead the Chiefs’ sweep.

Socastee defeated Myrtle Beach 48-36 in the other match.
