The Conway High girls basketball team is headed to the second round of the Class 4A playoffs following a 60-44 victory over visiting Fort Dorchester on Tuesday night.
The second-seeded Lady Tigers (15-7) jumped on the third-seeded Lady Patriots right out of the gate and was never threatened to punch a rare ticket to the second round.
Meme Williams scored 16 points to lead Conway, which travels to top-seeded Goose Creek on Friday.
* Socastee 41, Summerville 37: The third-seeded Lady Braves (14-11) scored a huge playoff victory on the road, knocking off second-seeded Lady Green Wave in the first round.
Socastee trailed 31-29 entering the fourth quarter but doubled up Summerville 12-6 in the final frame to advance to the second round. The Lady Braves travel to top-seeded North Augusta on Friday.
