Grand Strand Running Club wins Battle of the Border

The first ever Battle of the Border was held today at Indigo Farms, just across the state line in Calabash, NC. The 8K (5 Mile) trail run event pitted members of the Grand Strand Running Club against the Wilmington, NC Road Runners Club.

Grand Strand Running Club members led the way on the male side, with Jonathan Kinsey winning the event. Second through fifth place were also taken by GSRC members, including Diego Sosa, Ryan Dion, Jimmy Recinos, and Rob Carroca.

On the female side of the event, GSRC put Amy Meredith across the line first, followed by Christine Rockey.

The event winner was determined by lowest point total, with the Grand Strand Running Club defeating their North Carolina competitor by 92 points 538 to 630.
