Gross leads 10 Lady Sharks on All-Region 7-4A squad

sjsoft-grossJust as the St. James High softball team rolled to the Region 7-4A title on the diamond, the Lady Sharks also dominated the all-region squad.

St. James’ Dominique Gross was named the Region Player of the Year, coach Adam Jones was the Region Coach of the Year, and a total of 10 St. James players made the list. Brooks Spiva was named first team pitcher, and Skye Bailey, Lindsey Burdette, Maquenzie Schultz and Kelsey Gollie joined her on the first squad. Kenly Daves and Brandi Gayle earned second-team honors, and Alysa Ayala and Jenna Lauttenbach made honorable mention for the Lady Sharks.

Myrtle Beach had six players make the all-region squad, including first-teamers McKenzie Coble, Madison Needle, Leah Belack, and Cayce Roberts. Myrtle Beach’s Carly Grace Bodge, Lindsey Coble made the second team.

North Myrtle Beach sent five players to the all-region team. Cissy Doolittle, Myatt Hardwick, and Derrah Ballard were first-team selections, while Emmalee Ballard and Andi Crimminger made the second squad.
