Hoops tip off, wrestling caps busy sports week

The Grand Strand prep sports scene has a busy week ahead, and an even busier weekend for local wrestling programs.

The hectic week kicks off Tuesday with a full slate of hoops and wrestling. In basketball, Myrtle Beach hosts Conway in a boys-girls twinbill as the Seahawks seek to avenge last week’s sweep by the Tigers.

Wednesday sees North Myrtle Beach and Socastee clash in a split doubleheader. NMB boys coach Alvin Green returns to his old dribbling grounds to face his alma mater and former Braves player Derrick Hilton. St. James battles Aynor on the same night.

Friday’s features a full hoops schedule, but Saturday is all about the mat. St. James hosts the Shark Duals, while Carolina Forest holds the Panther Brawl.
