Jenerette sisters grab home course victory in Winter Run

JennThe 31st annual North Myrtle Beach Winter Run saw local running sisters from the Jenerette family pick up wins on the Female side in both the 5k and 15k races.

Frequently seen running along Ocean Boulevard of North Myrtle Beach, the Jenrette sisters used their experience and team training philosophy to pace 16 year old Drake Jenerette to 1st place in the 15k overall Female category.

The overall male winner of the 15k race was Frank Pepp, an active local runner that has his own support team with the Grand Strand Running Club. Pepp was nearly 3 minutes faster than local Tri-Athlete Diego Sosa.

In the 5K event that began and ended on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, Gage Hicks of Myrtle Beach was the overall winner with a time of 18:00. Oldest Jenerette runner, Benjamin finished 1st place overall Female, and 2nd place overall. Daniel Filippini finished 3rd overall and 2nd overall Male.

Other notables include Jenerette sister Wilson, winning the under 14 category of her 5k race, and local North Myrtle Beach High School teacher Angela Robinette, finishing 3rd overall Female.

Grand Strand Running Club president Roscoe Griffin escorted local runner Misty Dion across the finish line in the 5k race. Dion is most recognized by her maiden name Misty White. Dion excelled locally on the marathon circuit, before being hit by a car while training October 2nd, 2013.
