Lady Seahawks storm into final of BE Fall Invitational

The Myrtle Beach High girls tennis team continued its undefeated season in an unlikely place this weekend – the prestigious Bishop England Fall Invitational in Charleston.

Featuring 18 of the top teams in the state, the Lady Seahawks (8-0) won their first three matches to advance to the championship against host and longtime nemesis Bishop England. Rain forced the postponement of the title match until a future date to be announced.

Myrtle Beach defeated Dutch Fork 4-2, took down Ashley Hall 5-1 and knocked off Porter Gaud 4-2 to reach the finals against fellow Lower State power Bishop England. The two schools have squared off many times for the right to advance to the Class 3A state finals.

The Lady Seahawks play host to St. James on Tuesday.
