Local soccer club players claim postseason awards

mbsoc-12Three Coast FA soccer players have been chosen to represent their respective schools in the North-South Soccer Classic, which will be held June 23-24 in Rock Hill.

Myrtle Beach’s Hunter Hardin, Socastee’s Tanner Goshert, and Waccamaw’s Juliette Gammel will represent their respective schools in the North-South game, which features the top seniors from the state.

Several local club players were also honored as All-State selections, including Socastee’s Chris Matlashewski (Coast 99 Red) in Class 5A, and St. James’ Luke Williams (Coast 99 Red), Myrtle Beach’s JR Stanley (Beach United) and Lady Seahawks standout Tristan Gordon (Coast 99g Crush) in Class 4A. In Class 3A, Georgetown’s Issac Trejo Garcia (Coast 99 Red) and Waccamaw’s Juliette Gammel earned all-state honors.
