MB’s Coughlin returns to earn Player of Year honor

After spending the past three years playing soccer everywhere from Charleston to South America, Myrtle Beach junior Sam Coughlin finally got to suit up for his home team this season. The result was a region championship for the Seahawks, and a region player of the year title for Coughlin.

Coughlin was named the Region 7-4A Player of the Year for leading his team to the region championship, and Seahawks coach Jason Himmelsbach won Region 7-4A Coach of the Year honors.

The junior striker Coughlin was joined by several Seahawks teammates on the All-Region squad, including first-teamers Coby Arambula, Alan Vasques and Sullivan Hardin.

Region runner-up St. James placed three players on the first team – Dalton Arseneau, Anews Broome and Luke Williams.

North Myrtle Beach had four first-teamers – Samir Cardoza, Hamdane Aoudou, Douglas Acosta and Matt Wilson.
