Track: NMB girls, SJ boys win; CF sweeps quad meet

nmbgtrack-relayThe North Myrtle Beach girls and St. James boys won at a four-team track and field meet on Wednesday at St. James.

The Lady Chiefs tallied a total of 94 points to defeat Waccamaw (84), St. James (54), and Socastee (30).

Jevelyn Cox lead the Lady Chiefs by winning events in both track (400 meters) and field (shot put).

In boys action, St. James racked up 84 points to down Waccamaw (76), North Myrtle Beach (66), and Socastee 29.

Trey Myers led the Sharks with wins in the 110 and 400 meter hurdles.

* The Carolina Forest boys won a four-team meet, racking up 113 to runner-up Conway (99), Lwe City (96) and Johnsonville (26).

Carolina Forest’s Dyverse Simmons won the long jump 20 feet, 1inch, Jason Craft won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.8 seconds, and Angel Perez won the shot put with a throw of 46 feet, 7 inches to help the Panthers improve to 2-0.

The Carolina Forest girls also defeated Conway and Georgetown, although final scores were not available. Top finishers for both meets are listed below:
