NMB selects inaugural class for athletics hall of fame

nmb-logo North Myrtle Beach High is launching its new sports hall of fame, inducting its inaugural class this fall.

The North Myrtle Beach High School Athletic Hall of Fame will host the first induction ceremony Weekend during October 2-3 weekend at the on-campus Hank Hester Sports Complex.

The inaugural class includes athletes, coaches, administrators and community members who  graduated during the decades of 1970s and 1980s. Founding members are Dave Dickson, Bob McInnis, Ray Sessions, George Williams, Jasper Grissett, Dale Ellis, Rickey Stackhouse, Betty (Cox)  Smith, Sherry Vereen, Darrell Wood, Damon Bradley, Milton Gore, Joshua Vaught, Kelly Tilghman, Sharon (Ford) Montgomery and Queenie Lewis. Alumni of Wampee and Chestnut High will also be included, with Jacob Watson and Ralph Edge in the first class.

On Friday evening during the football team’s region opener against Lake City, the list of inductees will be recognized at halftime. On Saturday night, the induction ceremony and reception will be held at the school. Tickets for the induction ceremony and reception are $15 and are available at the school.

  1. This is an awesome idea. Thank you for recognizing my late husband, Bob McInnis. All of the others are deserving as well. That was a special time at NMB. Miss those days.
