NMB’s Grissett heads the list on all-CBCA first team

North Myrtle Beach senior guard Jaquan Grissett picked up some more hardware for his outstanding season by being named the Coastal Basketball Coaches Association’s Player of the Year for 2012-13.

Averaging 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals per game, Grissett shot better than 40 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the foul line. He led the Chiefs to the Region 7-3A championship and also was named its POY.

Grissett is joined by a solid lineup of seniors on the first team – Nolin Bulter of Myrtle Beach, Reggie Bonner of Conway, Caleb Duggan of St. James and Deshaun Aiken of Carvers Bay.

The second team features seniors Kendall Henry of Christian Academy and Kahmil Cooper of Conway. A trio of juniors made the second team –  Ryan Yurachek of Carolina Forest, Josh Lindsey of North Myrtle Beach and Tyree Floyd of Loris.

Honorable-mention honors went to seniors Neheimah Stafford of St. James, Malcolm Green of Conway, Monte McCrea of Andrews, Hunter Windham of Aynor and Charlie McGrit and Anthony Blair of Georgetown. Junior Adonis Williams of Waccamaw and sophomore Zavier Jones of Carolina Forest round out the list.
