NMB’s Lindsey twins lead Chiefs’ blowout of Ashley

nmbhoops-lindseyThe North Myrtle Beach boys and girls basketball teams played border rival Ashley (NC) for the second time in six nights, but the results were much the same.

The Chiefs (3-1) rolled to a 63-54 victory over the visiting Eagles for their third consecutive win, while the Lady Chiefs (2-2) were crushed by Ashley again, this time by a 69-27 score.

Ashley’s Felecity Havens led four Lady Eagles in double figures with 14 points. Hannah McIntyre and Aquela Johnson were North Myrtle Beach’s leading scorers with six points apiece.

The only drama came late in the boys game as the Chiefs were outscored 19-4 in the fourth quarter but were easily able to withstand the run. NMB jumped out to a 20-6 lead in the first period and carried a 59-35 advantage after three quarters before emptying the bench.

NMB twins Matt and Josh Lindsey once again led the Chiefs. Matt hit 4 of his 5 3-point attempts for a game-high 18 points, Josh chipped in 13 points and each grabbed five rebounds apiece. Cameron Gore had a team-high six boards and eight points for NMB.
