Touchstone Energy sponsors North-South All-Star Game

The North-South All-Star Football Game, held annually in Myrtle Beach, will have a new title sponsor in 2013.

Touchstone Energy’s South Carolina cooperatives announced Tuesday its sponsorship of the high school football showcase beginning with the 2013 edition, which will be played Dec. 14 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Held since 1948, the North-South All-Star Football Game features 88 of the top seniors in the state, 44 from the Lowcountry and 44 from the Upstate, to compete in front of fans and college scouts.

Previously sponsored by the South Carolina Auto Dealers Association, the game has been without a title sponsor in recent years. Organizers hope the deal will solidify the game’s financial viability and its Grand Strand location.
