Panthers get the last word against ex-Chant Norman

Panthers Redskins FootballThe Carolina Panthers got the last word against outspoken ex-teammate and Coastal Carolna alum Josh Norman on Monday night, defeating his new team, the Washington Redskins, 26-15.

The much-anticipated showdown between Norman and his former teammates went to the Panthers, who made enough plays in the passing game behind quarterback Cam Newton to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Newton threw only a handful of balls in Norman’s direction. In the third quarter, Norman broke up a long pass toward Ted Ginn Jr. in the end zone, nearly coming away with a pick.

Ginn caught a 30-yard touchdown in the first half and was wide open in the end zone. Norman was in the area, as was safety Donte Whitner Sr. It was unclear who missed the assignment.

“Yeah it was different. It was, I can’t say it wasn’t,” Norman said of playing against the team with which he spent the first four years of his career.
