Socastee sweeps tri-meet vs. Carolina Forest, Conway

socxc-girlsThe Socastee High boys and girls teams swept a tri-meet with region rivals Carolina Forest and Conway on Tuesday, tallying 34 points apiece en route to the victories.

Socastee’s top runner in each divisions finished fourth, but the Braves were able to place all five runners in the top 10 to defeat the Panthers and Tigers based on overall depth.

Carolina Forest siblings Michael and Lisa Pieterse once again claimed medalist honors. Michael Pieterse completed the 5K course in 17:23, while Lisa Pieterse broke the tape in 19:11 – more than 1 1/2 minutes ahead the second place.

The Socastee boys finished ahead of Carolina Forest (44) and Conway (50), while the Lady Braves beat Conway (46) and Carolina Forest (53). The top 10 finishers in each division are listed below:
