USC up to 15th, Tigers still 8th; Sunshine State shut out

Clemson remained ranked eighth and South Carolina climbed to No. 15 in light of Saturday’s big wins, making the Palmetto State well represented in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

But this week’s poll may be better known for who isn’t in it. For the first time in almost 30 years, no schools from the state of Florida appear in the Top 25.

With Florida, Florida State and Miami all falling on Saturday, this week’s poll is devoid of a Sunshine State representative for the first time since Dec. 6, 1982 – a string of 472 consecutive weeks.

The top 10 remain the same, with LSU staying atop the poll with their 41-11 blowout of the Gators. LSU is followed by No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Wisconsin and No. 5 Boise State.

Oklahoma State is sixth, followed by Stanford, Clemson, Oregon and Arkansas rounding out the top 10. Michigan is No. 11, followed by Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Nebraska and the Gamecocks.
