View full bios on the Chants’ 2012 football recruiting class

Coastal Carolina signed 11 football players on Wednesday, less than one month since new head coach Joe Moglia and his staff started their recruiting efforts.

Moglia’s first recruiting class is diverse both in terms of position and geography. Below is a list of the 11 players who made it official on National Signing Day, followed by full bios of each player:

– Tallied 115 tackles, including 65 solo, with four sacks, six pass break-ups, an interception, a fumble recovery and two forced fumbles

– The Eagles posted a 13-3 mark in 2011, reaching the state title game in 2009 and ‘10

– Named to the Mid-State 3A All-Conference team and Times-News first team All-Region in 2010

– Received All-Region second team honors during his sophomore season

– Ranked third in the state in his weight class as a junior in wrestling

Prior to Coastal Carolina:
– Participated in the ESPN/Rise Elite 11 QB camps held at TCU and Ohio State

– 2011 first team Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Class 6 All-State

– Finalist for the Gatorade Missouri Football Player of the Year

– Completed 165-of-311 passes (.531) and threw for 2,764 yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior

– Ranked fifth in the St. Louis area in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns

– Led CBC to a 13-1 record and a trip to the 2011 Missouri Class 6 championship game

– Received the “Army Strong Award’ as the Player of the Week in the Great American Football Classic at The Edward Jones Dome against DeSmet, completed 16-of-29 attempts for 349 yards and caught a 56-yard touchdown pass

– Team captain in 2011 and team MVP (2010)

– Named second team All-Metro Catholic Conference as a junior
– Ranked No. 15 on St. Louis Today’s Super 30 list and CBC was ranked No. 40 on the ESPNHS FAB 50.

– As a junior, completed 52 percent of his passes for 2,038 yards with 12 TDs passing and two rushing

Dominic DiGalbo

Prior to Coastal Carolina:

– All-Delaware County

– A second team Philadelphia All-Catholic League pick by the coaches

– Helped the Friars come within one victory of a Catholic League Class AAA title in 2011

– Named to All-League squad his final two seasons

– Opened running lanes for an attack that averaged 171 yards per game

– Attended West Catholic with fellow CCU signee Bruce Mapp through his junior season, helping his team to a 13-2 record and the 2010 AA state championship

– His blocking helped three backs who posted season rushing totals of between 924 and 1,557 yards, a 1,400-yard passer, 36.5 points per game and 79 total touchdowns (62 rushing, 17 passing)

André Johnson

Prior to Coastal Carolina:
– Named Georgia Sports Writers Association Class AA honorable mention All-State

– Tabbed second team All-Area by Gainesville Times as an athlete, adding 71 tackles with seven TFL on defense

– Had 1,006 yards rushing with 18 touchdowns, seeing limited action during the regular season due to blow-out wins for Buford

– Played fullback and defensive end prior to his senior season, moving to linebacker as a senior

– Was high school teammate with current CCU rising sophomore quarterback Alex Ross

– Reached the Georgia AA title game as a senior, wining state championships as a junior and sophomore

Clark Krimmer

Kathleen, Ga. / Houston County HS

Prior to Coastal Carolina:

– Registered 58 tackles, including 47 solo, with six tackles for loss, one sack, four pass break-ups, three forced fumbles and a blocked field goal

– Was his team’s defensive player of the game three times in 2011

– Only played football two years, starting at linebacker as a senior and playing tight end as a freshman

– Also plays baseball for the Bears, leading the team in ERA as a freshman and sophomore

– A two-time state qualifier in swimming, placing runner-up both times, in the 50-meter butterfly

– Hails from the same high school that produced former Chanticleers Ben Collins, Eric O’Neal and Dexter Holman

Voghens Larrieux

New London, Conn. / New London HS

Prior to Coastal Carolina:

– Named Class L All-State and The New London Day All-Area

– Selected to the 80th Annual New Haven Register (all divisions) All-State football second team

– Tabbed first team All-Eastern Connecticut Large Conference

– Credited with 38 pancake blocks and did not allow a sack in 2011

– Blocked for three-time, 1,000-yard rusher and the (all-divisions) All-State first team running back Kyle McKinnon

– Also was a standout at defensive end

– New London was football state runner-up in 2010

– Student of the Month at New London and won one of the school’s science awards

– Also plays basketball for New London, who was 2012 preseason #1, 2011 Class L state champion and 2010 Class L state runner-up

Bruce Mapp
6-1, 170, WR
Philadelphia, Pa. / West Philadelphia Catholic HS

Prior to Coastal Carolina:

– Played in the 2011 Chesapeake Bowl (North Team), helping the North to a 28-17 win thanks to a 61-yard TD
– Selected first team Philadelphia Tribune AA All-Catholic League

– Chosen as the TedSilary.com Offense of Player of the Week (twice)

– Maxpreps.com Player of the Week (twice)

– City All-Star game selection

– Selected 2011 All-EasternPAFootball.com Small School Team Honorable Mention Offense

– Named first team All-Scholastic

– Led West Catholic to the 2011 PIAA 2A semifinal

– Caught 32 passes for 639 yards with 10 touchdowns

– Student Class President Senior Year

– As a junior, West Catholic won the state championship

– Reached the state championships in the triple jump as a junior and has a career-best leap of 42-6

– Second team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania by the Philadelphia Inquirer

– Named first team All-Ches-Mont League at both running back and defensive back

– Rushed for 1,554 yards and 22 touchdowns

– Rushed for 237 yards with three TDs on 21 attempts in a win over Octorara

– Led Unionville to a 9-2 record, falling in the first round of the playoffs

– Only had six carries for 40 yards with a TD and six catches for 88 yards as junior, missing the final eight games of the season due to a foot injury

– Three year starter for football, also starting for the Unionville basketball team

Kamron Summers

Prior to Coastal Carolina:

– Selected to the Charlotte Observer All-Region second team as a wide receiver as a senior

– Named a Tom Lemming “Top Player” as a defensive back

– Tabbed All-County as a wide receiver

– As a junior, had five interceptions, returning three for touchdowns to rank second in the North Carolina record book, while recording 60 tackles and nine pass breakups

– As a sophomore, primarily played wide receiver, catching nine passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns

– Also plays basketball and runs track

– His father, Mark, was a high school All-American wide receiver at West Iredell HS

Lorenzo Taliaferro

Prior to Coastal Carolina:
– At Lackawanna JC: Named to the 2011 All-Northeast Football Conference second team

– Tabbed the Lackawanna Offensive MVP

– Scored 10 touchdowns, ranked ninth in the league with 428 rushing yards on 76 attempts with three TDs, adding 123 receiving yards

– Was second in the conference and 14th in the NJCAA in kick returns, averaging 27.2 yards per return (579 yards on 11 attempts with a TD)

– Ranked third in the league in all-purpose yards, averaging 120.5 yards per game,

– Selected as the Northeast Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week as he returned six kickoffs for 242 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown against Louisburg

– Helped lead Lackawanna College to their ninth bowl game, playing the 2011 Salt City Bowl

– As a freshman, had 19 rushes for 96 yards

– At Bruton HS: Named first team VHCSA and AP second team Group AA All-State

– Played in the VHSCA All-Star game

– Ran for 1,678 yards and scored 21 touchdowns

– Helped lead the Panthers win the Region I Division 3 crown and the state title game
