CAC sends six swimmers to podium at Tiger Invitational

The Clemson Aquatic Team (CAT) hosted their 2019 Tiger Invitational Meet this weekend at Clemson University.

The Coastal Aquatic Club (CAC) sent 36 swimmers to the meet to compete with over 600 swimmers from 20 swim clubs from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Kayla Aquilar led CAC with 4 individual wins and 6 total podium (TOP 3) finishes while Yuri Costa posted the other lone CAC event win. Other CAC racers to reach the podium were Logan Mendieta, Ryan Boudreau, Jack Guthinger, John Grey Crosby, and Christian Patricio. Here is a list of CAC TOP FIVE finishes:

* Kayla Aguilar: 1st in 100 Back; 1st in 50 Free; 1st in 100 Free; 1st in 200 Back; 2nd in 100 IM; and 3rd in 50 Breast.
* Yuri Costa: 1st in 50 Free.
* Logan Mendieta: 2nd in 50 Breast; 3rd in 200 Breast; 4th in 100 Breast; 5th in 200 IM; and 5th in 50 Free.
* Ryan Boudreau: 2nd in 200 Free; 3rd in 100 Back; and 4th in 100 IM.
* Jack Guthinger: 2nd in 200 Breast; 4th in 100 Free,
* John Grey Crosby: 3rd in 100 Back; 3rd in 100 Free; and 3rd in 50 Free.
* Christian Patricio: 3rd in 100 Fly.
* Molly Tate: 4th in 100 Fly; 4th in 200 Fly.
* Joe Guthinger: 5th in 1,650 Free (i.e., The Mile).
* Chandra Robideaux: 5th in 100 IM.
* Nick D’Agostino: 5th in 200 Fly.

So far this season, CAC has 23 swimmers qualified for the South Carolina Short-Course Championship Meet to be held the weekend of February 15-18 in Greenville. There are two last-chance qualifying opportunities coming up: the “Battle at the Beach” meet hosted by the Bolivia (NC) Aquatics Club next weekend and the final Grand Prix series meet the following weekend in Charleston.
