CAC’s Fachin, Bryan take medal stand at state meet

cac-fachinbryanThe Coastal Aquatic Club closed out the long-course season at the South Carolina State Swimming Championships over the weekend at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

CAC swimmers Andre Fachin and Mason Bryan earned spots on the medal stand as two of 21 club members to compete in the top event of the year. CAC swimmers set 68 personal best times, 26 top-10 finishes and 25 new club records against the top swimmewrs in the state.

Fachin finished second in the 100 Freestyle, along with a top-five in the 200 Free and a top-10 in the 50 Free. Bryan was third in 400 individual medley, and placed sixth in the 100 Backstroke. Other members to earn top-10 finishes include:

•    Brae Jackson: 4th in 800 Free; 7th in 400 Free; 7th in 50 Fly; 9th in 200 Back.
•    Maggie Langdale: 5th in 100 Back; 6th in 200 Back; 7th in 400 IM, 7th in 200 IM; 10th in 200 Free.
•    Will Jackson: 5th in 100 Free; 6th in 50 Free; 7th in 200 Free; 9th in 50 Back.
•    Kandes Soapes: 8th in 100 Back; 9th in 50 Free.
•    Tyler Eldred: 9th in 100 Free.
•    Sophia McKanna: 10th in 50 Back.
•    Boy’s 400 Free Relay Team earned 4th place (Andre Fachin, Luke La Rochelle, Mason Bryan, and Tyler Eldred).
•    Boy’s 400 Medley Relay Team earned 4th place (Mason Bryan, Tyler Eldred, Luke La Rochelle, and Andre Fachin).
•    Girl’s 400 Free Relay Team earned 7th place (Maggie Langdale, Addison Hicks, Ana Wolff, and Kandes Soapes).
•    Girl’s 400 Medley Relay Team earned 9th place (Kandes Soapes, Ana Wolff, Maggie Langdale, and Addison Hicks).
