The Myrtle Beach boys golf team sent a signal to the rest of the state over the weekend that they could be the team to beat for the 2018 state championship by winning the prestigious Fort Dorchester Preseason Patriot Invitational Golf Tournament.
The Seahawks traveled to Charleston to compete with 18 other teams from around the state, winning by 15 strokes over runner-up Lexington. Myrtle Beach won with a two-day total of 635 (324 on Sunday, 311 on Monday) to pull away from the field.
