Jacksons lead CAC to wins at May Breakout swim meet

cac-maybreakout14A dozen members of the Coastal Aquatics Club (CAC) competed in the May Breakout swim meet in Columbia over the weekend on the campus of the University of South Carolina.

Leading the Myrtle Beach-based club were three members of the Jackson family – Will, Brae and Carly Belle, who combined for 28 top-10 finishes in all 28 events they entered at the prestigious meet.

Carly Belle Jackson earned seven medals – one gold, three silvers and three bronze – while sister Brae Jackson had two silvers and three bronze. Will Jackson added one second and two thirds while setting new team records in the 50-meter breaststroke (49.67) and 100 breaststroke (1:52.70).

CAC swimmers recorded personal-best times in 57 of 97 events entered (59% of their races).  Nine of twelve racers entered (75%) earned at least one TOP TEN finish during the meet.  In total, CAC swimmers recorded 54 top-10s. Among them are:

* Maggie Langdale: 3rd in 100 Back; 4th in 400 IM; 5th in 800 Free; 8th in 100 Free; 9th in 200 Free
* Andre Fachin: 4th in 100 Free; 6th in 100 Fly; 7th in 50 Free; 10th in 200 Free.

* Casey Mitchell:  5th in 400 IM; 5th in 800 Free; 6th in 200 Back; 8th in 100 Breast; 8th in 200 Breast; 8th in 100 Back; 10th in 200 Free.

* Emie Jackson: 5th in 800 Free; 6th in 200 IM; 6th in 200 Back; 7th in 100 Back; 10th in 400 Free.• Mason Bryan: 5th in 100 Back; 5th in 800 Free; 7th in 100 Free; 8th in 200 Fly.

* Julia Marinoff: 10th in 50 Free.
