The Socastee girls tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season with Wednesday’s clean sweep of visiting West Brunswick (NC).
Not only did the Lady Braves take all seven matches, they also won every game en route to the rout.
No. 1 Anna Bryce Cox and No. 2 Jordan Wesel made quick work of their singles matches before joining forces to win No. 1 doubles.
No. 3 Olivia Patton, No. 4 Haley Duvall, No. 5 Ashlynn Burns and No. 2 doubles tandem Kim Cook and Kathleen Conway all rolled to remain undefeated on the year.
* North Myrtle Beach 5, Carolina Forest 2: The Lady Chiefs opened their season with a big win over the intra-county rival Lady Panthers.
North Myrtle Beach’s No. 1 Amber Mincey and No. 2 Caitlyn Wolf took straight-sets victory over Carolina Forest’s Lydia Gouhin and Drew Limpasuzan, respectively. The NMB duo then teamed up for an 8-0 sweep of the same two in No. 1 doubles to lead the victory.
