Despite playing without No. 1 player Smith Knaffle, the St. James High girls golf team turned in a solid performance again st some of the top teams in the state Sunday at the Fort Dorchester Lady Patriot Invitational.
The Lady Sharks traveled to Westcott Plantation on Sunday afternoon and returned home with a fourth-place finish against a strong 16-team field. St. James finished behind winner Lexington, runner-up Greenville and third-place Bishop England.
Jordan White led the Lady Sharks with a 76, good for a seventh-place tie individually and six strokes behind medalist Sophia Burnett of Bluffton was medalist with a 70. Jordan White was T7 overall and led the Sharks to their 4th place finish.
St. James golfers Adrian Anderson and Katie Smith fired 83s, and Brooke Reagan and Amanda Meno shot 87s to give the Lady Sharks a four-player total of 329.
The defending state champion Lady Sharks make up a match at Carolina Forest on Tuesday before they turn their focus to preparing for Lower State in Hilton Head.
