Seahawks don’t miss beat in shutout over Darlington

No practices, no games, no problem.

Playing for the first time in a month due to Hurricane Florence, the No. 4-ranked Myrtle Beach High football team continued its impressive start to the season with a 49-0 victory over Region 6-4A foe Darlington.

The only signs of rust on the undefeated Seahawks (4-0 overall, 1-0 region) came on the opening drive when junior quarterback Luke Doty fumbled through the end zone before breaking the plane. The rest was all MB.

Senior running back Jermani Green scored four touchdowns and Doty passed for one to Da’Ron Finkley to lead a stellar offensive performance. The Seahawks are averaging nearly 50 points per game.

In addition to posting a second shutout of the season, the defense added a pair of TDs by Salim Sessions – one on a pick-6 and the other on a scoop-6. Myrtle Beach is allowing less than 7 points per game.
