Tennis: Seahawks, Chiefs score impressive sweeps

The Myrtle Beach boys tennis team opened Region 7-4A action in impressive fashion, sweeping Wilson High 6-0 to improve to 4-1 overall.

In singles play, #1 Joshua Wallen defeated Anish Jona 6-3, 6-3, #2 John Cahill defeated Davis Ivey 6-1, 6-1, #3 Rivers Cahill won over Nadh Singh 6-1, 6-3, #4 Dever Smith won over Kartich Deerak 6-1, 6-2, and #5 WJ Vaught defeated Joshua Anyim 6-2, 6-2.

At #2 doubles, William Truluck and Bailey Morrow defeated Jeremy Anyim and Lide Dekalatu 6-0, 6-1 to complete the sweep for the Seahawks.

Myrtle Beach’s next match is against Socastee on Monday at 5pm at the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center.

* North Myrtle Beach 7, Green Sea Floyds 0: The Chiefs won every position versus the Trojans.

Singles winners were Jude Wilkey, West Harrell, Charles Cornell-Hayes, Connor Chilton and Kris Webb. Winning at #1 Doubles were Jude Wilkey and West Harrell. Winning at #2 Doubles were Brayden Powers and Logan Schofield.
