Week 7 Previews & Picks: Football resumes post Flo

Football teams aren’t the only ones who have to knock off a little rust before returning to action. The three-week layoff from Hurricane Florence halted the momentum of pigskin prognosticators as well.

Heading into Week 4, I was coming off back-to-back perfect sheets until Flo stopped my Mo. But just like the players who have to get back in football mode, the games (and picks) must go on. Here’s Week 7:

* Socastee at Conway: Who would have thought the Tigers (0-3) would still be looking for their first win of the season in October? The break could have been a blessing for Conway, which needed time to get their season back on track. Looks for the Tigers to put it together against the Braves (1-2). … Conway 21, Socastee 20.

* Myrtle Beach at Darlington: The Seahawks (3-0) were sailing through the start of the season before the storm. Fortunately they can continue to roll against the winless Falcons (0-4). … Myrtle Beach 34, Darlington 13.

* North Myrtle Beach at Wilson: The Tigers (4-2) have played two more games than the Chiefs (4-0), who have struggled despite being unbeaten. They will have to work for this one. … NMB 27, Wilson 20.

* South Florence at Carolina Forest: The undefeated Panthers (3-0) open region play against the Bruins (2-2) looking to capture their first Region 5-5A title. It’s a good start. … Carolina Forest 24, South Florence 13.

* West Florence at St. James: Former Aynor coach Jody Jenerette returns to the Grand Strand to lead his Knights (4-1) against the winless Sharks (0-3) in a rare local version of Monday Night Football. … West Florence 38, St. James 17.

Last week 4-0; Overall 15-3
